UT Sounds

I've been extracting a lot of the sounds from the .uax files I saved before I got rid of UT recently, searching for certain sounds such as weapon clicks, and other little in-game things such as amp attainment, but I haven't found them. I was told that what I was looking for could be found in the botpack.u, but I can't figure out how to extract the sounds from it. The program I was using the get the sounds from the uax files, a UT Wav Extractor I found at this site, won't open the file, saying...

I've been trying to spread this around. I didn't realize there were still so many people having this problem. Anyway, this seemed to be another good place to post it.

I've found the following settings will get rid of black grenade boxes in UT X and OS 9 OpenGL modes.

First, set yourself to 16-bit color and medium textures.
Then, make sure your UnrealTournament.ini file looks like this in the OpenGL...

I have an Iomega Zip CD, that sucks and i have Toast Titanium 5.0. I installed the iomega software (i think it was the right cd) and installed an older version of toast. it worked. but then i got iTunes, and it didn't work. So someone said Toast and iTunes had problems, so i got Toast Titanium 5.0. I still can't burn cds. Toast Titanium 5.0 recognizes my cd burner, as a cd reader but not a burner. I was wondering what i can do to fix this.

they announced that they would be going t hrough weirdness for 5 hours or so.

instead of connecting to 'irc.enterthegame.com', put in '207.228.99.4'. there's only a handful of us on there though.

Yet another small victory!!

Screw all the record companies. They bleed the musicians so bad already, it's pathetic that they say they are losing money. To try and dictate what I can do with a product I purchased is so totalitarian it makes me sick. Makes you think George Orwell had a REAL point...
We really need to move to a non-middleman approach in music... soon!

Video Editing

I have recently started using iMovie to get video of my digital video camera. Then I use iMovie to edit it and export it to a quicktime .mov file. It works fine!

BUT the files are huge! i've got a 7 minute video that is 1.5 gigabytes!!!

any good video compressors or programs i should get???

i know divx is probably the best compressor (for making a file smaller) but is it possible to encode it on the mac?

Im having problems with UT and how it asks for an Unreal Tournament CD everytime i play UT. Its a pain to have to put it in everytime. I followed your instructions but still had problems. The error message said: " Failed to enter Entry: Can't find file 'Entry':. "

There are some amazing mods which are coming out soon but some of these like Thievery UT have enhanced the gameplay using C++. It would be great to see the likes of thievery released for Mac UT and I spoke to the team regarding a Mac version. They said it wasn't possible as none of them own a Mac (*sigh*) and they would let a Mac programmer convert the mod (ie some C++ coding) if they had any Mac porters applying to help.... unfortunately none have. If there are any wiliing Mac programmers to...
